Artist's Statement:
For twenty years, I worked as a painter, and then another twenty as a sculptor, carving wood. The last ten years have been occupied primarily with making constructions of shaped and found objects. With luck, I'll have another ten or fifteen years to gather up loose ends. This is just a little while. I'll be done before I know it.
Assemblage assumes an especially deep resonance in our time, when western civilization is in obvious decline, and cultures across the planet are struggling to construct some meaning out of the wreckage of the world.
